There’s nothing better than a gay musical (aren’t they all?). There’s nothing better than hard-bodied dancing boys. There’s nothing better than Sondheim, sex, and did we mention the hard bodies? The Big Gay Musical has it all, including glitter, gay marriage commentary, angel wings and teeny briefs…heck, even God gets involved in the singing glory.

Off-Broadway is the setting for new musical ‘Adam and Steve: Just the Way God Made Them,’ the tale of God’s other triumph once Eve gets sent out of the garden. While history gets its new queer twist onstage, the actual cast members deal with typical New York issues: coupling, sex, casual hookups, and for one actor, worrying that his folks are going to find out the hard way that he’s only ‘out’ in New York. Never missing one of their prized son’s shows, his very religious parents will have a tough decision to make after seeing their son Paul in the gayest musical ever presented.

Meanwhile, Eddie has his own worries, singing his heart out at the local Sondheim piano bar while missing his cuddle sessions after being left behind by his boyfriend. Casual sex, even with paid professionals, leaves him lonely and wanting…but will his life as a serial dater and actor be too much for any other man to invade?

Veteran director Casper Andreas (Slutty Summer, Four Letter Word, Between Love and Goodbye) hits his movie-making climax with The Big Gay Musical, where all of the actors are out and proud, and each of them triple-threats in this fanciful mix of dressing room antics and dancing/singing action. There’s plenty of on-stage skin as Adam and Steve face off against the religious right, and plenty of drama as Paul and Eddie try to find their own version of Heaven on Earth…all delivered through the relentlessly upbeat script and original music by Fred M. Caruso.
